National Hoagie Day

Yes, a National Hoagie Day (Nov. 3) exists! The world is a wonderful place.

In celebration of this wonderful day, honoring the best sandwich in the world that calls Philly its home, I went to the With Love Hoagie Invitational. Five contestants were selected to design a new hoagie for Primo’s menu and name it the “With Love” hoagie. While there was an official judge panel, visitors got to sample all five hoagies and vote which one they liked best.

It's true.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get there in time to participate in the voting aspect, but I did get to enjoy free hoagie samples. What more could you ask for?

The hoagie I sampled was the: Oven Roasted Turkey, Prosciutto, Mortadella, Cherry Mozzarella, Provolone
, Shredded Parm topped with Bruschetta
and Pesto Sauce with the option of lettuce, onion and mayo

spread on both sides of the roll.

Ever wonder where you find the best hoagie? Try the Authentic Philadelphia Hoagie Finder and read up on the history of the hoagie.

Where do you go for your favorite hoagie? Just remember that Wawa, Subway and Jimmy John’s don’t count!
