Month of Letters Challenge 2015

LetterMo2015It’s that time of year again, the time to send out as much mail as you can in 28 days! In just four days, the Month of Letters Challenge (known as LetterMo for short) will begin!

This will be my third year participating and I am just as excited as I was in 2013. For me, this challenge is a nice way to pick up my pace in sending mail out into the world, since I tend to be slower in responding to letters (I focus mainly on Thank You notes) in January after the holiday season mail fun.

In 2013, I let myself get a little overwhelmed by the excitement and the pressure I felt of writing and sending something every day.

In 2014, I tried to plan in advance who I would write each day, but that didn’t work for me at all. The mail I wrote each day was largely based on who I felt inspired to write to that day, and I ended up just recording who I wrote to each day.

So this year, I pretty much plan on following the same approach as last year – write  and send 1 – 2 pieces of mail (maybe more if I’m inspired and have the time) each day and record who I’ve sent stuff to. For me, pieces of mail will be include letters, postcards, Valentine’s, mail projects, and anything else I might be inspired to create over the next 28 days.

Check out some of the mail I sent and received last year:

  1. I did the Month of Letters last year, and while I think it’s an awesome concept, I kind of feel as though it’s silly for me to participate as every month is a month of letters in my world. For almost as long as we’ve been living here, I’ve always found an excuse to put our flag up each and every day. A) I love to send mail. B) I love being able to look out the window and see if mail for me has come 😀
