Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday of the entire year because it is all about coming together with those you love and enjoying delicious food.
I traveled down to DC again this year to cook this wonderful feast with my mom. We spend two to three days prepping and cooking to get ready for the big day, and the results always surpass expectations.
We like to keep a few repeat dishes that have become staples and tradition by now as well as mix in a few new recipes, just to experience different flavor profiles.
Here’s a look at the recipes we used:
Calvados-Laced Squash Soup – this year we substuted sage for cinnamon and topped with a balsamic reduction.
Pull-Apart Potato Rolls
Miso Turkey and Gravy – we used a brown rice based miso and buttered the turkey before it went in the oven.
Brussels Sprouts and Kale Slaw
Green Beans with Za’atar and Lemon
Spiced Sweet Potato and Parnsip Tian
Rustic Bread Stuffing with Bell Peppers and Thyme
Buttermilk Ranch Mashed Potatoes
Cranberry, Apple, and Walnut Conserve
Sweet Potato Layer Cake with Orange Cream Cheese Icing
